Mission of EYM TV
Ethio Youth media TV is a non-profit organization serving immigrant communities around Seattle and its vicinity. In the past, some of its projects were sponsored by Ethiopian Community Mutual Association; Yesler Community Technology Learning Center; Ethio Digital & IT Services (EDITS), Seattle Park & Recreation; East African Arts & Cultural Association; and Seattle Community Access Network (SCAN). Current partners of EYM TV include: Seattle University, University of Washington, Seattle Neighborhood group, Horn of Africa, and Seattle Anesthesia Outreach.
Ethio Youth Media TV was conceived in 2001 and started regular program at SCAN TV in 2004. Then it expanded its service to the larger immigrant youth community reflecting issues that affect young people most. EYM TV is now continuing its programming by teaching young people how to broadcast on TV and become future community leaders. Ethio Youth Media TV is aired every week on Sunday from 7:00PM- 8:00PM, Monday from 7:00AM-8:00AM, and Friday 4:00AM-5:00AM on Seattle Community Media broadcasts on cable in the greater Seattle area on Comcast Channel 77, Wave Broadband Channel 23 and to the world via live stream on this website.
